The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport hotel has unveiled the second phase in a multi-million pound refurbishment project featuring the return of Pan-Asian restaurant Sampans and a new club lounge. 

After the first part of the refurbishment earlier this year unveiled a new open lobby public space and 299 upgraded bedrooms, the hotel has now unveiled new leisure facilities. 

Sampans restaurant is returning after a full refurbishment to offer guests a range of Pan-Asian dishes ranging from dim sum, curries, noodles and rice dishes to desserts such as the Malaysian Kuih Dar Dar. 

The new club lounge is also open to IHG rewards diamond elite members, who have instant access, and any adult guest staying at the hotel who wishes to upgrade. Club lounge guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. The space includes a range of “comfortable” seating options and live travel information. 

Additional facilities in the hotel include a 24-hour fitness centre and eight meeting rooms with an on-site coordinator, where guests can host meetings or events for 2 to 70 people. 

General manager for the hotel, Matt Byram, said: “We are delighted to unveil the second phase of our huge refurbishment project. Since reopening the hotel at the beginning of the year, the public response has been incredibly positive of the modernisation work so far, so we are pleased to keep adding services and facilities we know our guests will love. 

“Sampans is back, and better than ever, by popular demand as once voted a favourite restaurant in Manchester on TripAdvisor, and the club lounge offers an elite experience to our business and travel guests.”
