Cawdor House, a guest house in a Victorian building located in the town of Nairn, has hit the market with an asking price of £1.05m.
Originally the first purpose-built Manse for the Free Church in Scotland, Cawdor House has operated as a guest house for many years.
The property has undergone extensive renovation over the past 15 years, bringing it to an “excellent standard” whilst retaining many original features.
As well as three separate owners retained bedrooms/suites, each of the five guest bedrooms has been individually designed, and there is also guest lounge and breakfast room facilities. The building is surrounded by large, private wrap-around gardens.
Situated 17 miles east of Inverness, with its international airport, Nairn is an ancient fishing port town known today for being home to Championship golf courses, and beaches. The town is also home to a high street of independent businesses, a small theatre and a museum, with historic attractions like Culloden Battlefield, making the destination popular with tourists all year round.
Gary Witham, director at Christie and Co who is managing the sale, said: “Small high-quality guest houses such as this are very popular where they have accessibility, not only to a major town and airport but also heritage and leisure attractions.”
