Village Hotel Club has completed the first phase of its £82m hotel upgrade and refurbishment programme.
Some 765 rooms have already been refurbished across the group, with more set to undergo a renovation. In addition to a “fresh and modern” look, the bedrooms feature new beds and fully refitted bathrooms.
In response to increased customer demand, work has already started to add around 50 bedrooms to both Village Hotel Club Ashton and Solihull, with plans to extend a further seven hotels in the future.
As part of its ESG and Sustainability strategy, Village is also in the process of installing EV chargers across its 33 hotels.
Alongside the extensive investment in its existing assets, Village is exploring new acquisition opportunities. Earlier this year, Village announced the acquisition of a new site in Reading. The site is currently undergoing a complete transformation before its anticipated launch in December 2025.
The group operates 33 hotels in the UK, welcoming 1.8 million hotel guests and over 130,000 Health and Wellness Club members every year.
Each hotel offers bedrooms alongside “extensive” leisure and business facilities, including a Village Health and Wellness Club, Pub and Grill, VWorks coworking, meetings and event space, and onsite Starbucks.
Gary Davis, CEO of Village Hotel Club, said: “Our multi-million-pound investment programme is a key step to reinforcing our ‘everything under one roof’ proposition and enhancing the customer experience for guests, members, and corporate travellers. We are delighted to complete the first phase of this investment programme and have already started work on the next phase as we deliver against our plans to upgrade a significant part of our portfolio.”
