Leeds Castle has unveiled details of its new Knights’ Retreat family accommodation, due to open on 18 July 2025.

The eight lodges are stowed within the castle’s idyllic 500-acre grounds, and were inspired by 13-Century owner Queen Eleanor of Castile’s vision for a ‘Castle of Delights’. All the lodges are named after mythical creatures such as the Basilisk, Minotaur, and Gryphon.

Each of the lodges, including the two accessible lodges, are fully equipped with all the modern conveniences. Sleeping up to five people, each feature an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area. There is also a bathroom suite with shower, electricity via main sockets, wall-mounted smart television and Wi-Fi.

Guests staying in a Knights’ Retreat lodge benefit from complimentary access to the Castle and its grounds. This includes a captivating maze and underground grotto, the Birds of Prey Centre, three thrilling play areas for younger visitors, and the all-new multi-media tours.

Leeds Castle is situated five miles southeast of Maidstone in Kent. It served six of England’s medieval queens, before being transformed into a 1930s country house retreat for the influential and famous Anglo-American heiress Lady Olive Baillie.

The Castle and its estate is preserved and maintained by the Leeds Castle Foundation, a not-for-profit charity.
