Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has announced the appointment of Guillaume Paupy as its new general manager.
Alongside this, Paupy will also assume the role of area vice president for Hyatt in the UK and Ireland, overseeing a growing portfolio of Hyatt-branded properties across the region.
Paupy brings a global perspective to London, having held senior leadership positions across Asia and South America.
Most recently, he served as managing director at Hyatt in Tokyo, where he oversaw the brand’s presence in one of its key Asia Pacific markets and led Andaz Tokyo as general manager for over three years.
He was previously the general manager at Palacio Duhau, Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, in addition to holding other leading roles for Hyatt Hotels in Montevideo, São Paulo, and Singapore.
He began his career with Hyatt in Tokyo in 2001, and after a brief two-year hiatus in 2008, rejoined the company to embark on a trajectory that has taken him from the Americas to Asia. He returns to Europe for the first time in his career.
Paupy said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Hyatt Regency London, The Churchill, a property with such a rich legacy and deep connection to British heritage, at a pivotal time for Hyatt in the UK and Ireland.
“This is a dynamic and exciting market, and I look forward to building on the property’s reputation for warm, personalised service and continuing to deliver the thoughtful, high-touch experiences our guests and World of Hyatt members have come to expect.”
