Hastings Hotels has appointed Michael Weston as the new general manager at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa in Newcastle, with Niall Burns also joining as deputy GM.
According to the hotel brand, Weston has almost 20 years’ management experience in the hospitality industry and previously worked for Walt Disney World, the Mooney Hotel Group, Hilton Hotels and Radisson Hotel Group.
He holds a BA (Hons) in hospitality management with a diploma in industrial studies from the Ulster University. As GM, Weston on will be responsible for leading the hotel team and the day-to-day management of the property.
Burns has worked for Hastings Hotels for over eight years and was previously named bar manager of the year at the NI Institute of Hospitality Awards. He recently graduated from an executive management program through the IMI and Fáilte Ireland.
As deputy GM, Burns will work closely with the Weston to assist in the day-to-day running of the hotel.
