AB Hotels has announced that after seven years under the IHG umbrella as a Crowne Plaza Hotel, its Five Lakes Resort hotel has now returned to independent status within the AB Hotels collection.
The four-star hotel, originally acquired by AB Hotels in 1994, is set in 320-acres of Essex countryside, and features 194-rooms, an indoor pool and spa, restaurant and bar and two 18-hole golf courses.
AB Hotels director, Rafi Bejerano said: “We decided to move away from the corporate approach of a branded hotel and restore the personal touch and family feel synonymous with AB Hotel’s properties. Being independent again gives us the opportunity to be more flexible, dynamic and respond quickly to the needs of the market.
“The response has been tremendous so far and we are looking forward to re-establishing direct personal and trusted relationships with our agents, suppliers and loyal customers, particularly those in the local area”.
AB Hotels also own Sopwell House in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
