The Oak Bank Hotel, situated within the Lake District in Grasmere, has been brought to the property market for £1.5m.
The property occupies a detached three storey property and comprises 13 en-suite letting bedrooms, set across the ground, first and second floors.
Additionally, on the ground floor, there is a reception lounge, lounge bar and The Dining Room, a two AA-Rosette and Michelin Plate awarded restaurant with a separate conservatory, which can accommodate for up to 30 covers altogether.
The main building offers staff accommodation, comprising two en-suite bedrooms, as well as three bedroom owner’s accommodation situated in a detached, two storey house to the rear of the hotel.
Oak Bank Hotel has been operated by the current owners, Glynis and Simon Wood, for the past 12 years and they are now seeking a sale in order to retire. Simon Wood said: “We’ve enjoyed our time at Oak Bank, taking it from a two star hotel with no awards to a three silver starred hotel with 2 AA Rosettes, a Michelin Plate and an entry in The Good Hotel Guide, with multiple improvements along the way.”
Alistair Greenhalgh, director at Christie and Co , who is handling the sale, added: “With a stunning detached house to the rear of the property that is ideal for a family, Oak Bank Hotel is perfectly suited for an owner operator to begin trading immediately.
“Grasmere is one of the Lake District’s most popular tourist destinations and as such, the hotel benefits from an excellent reputation and high levels of repeat trade, but also presents significant potential for a new owner to extend the current trading period and take advantage of the area’s year round custom.”
