New Harrogate boutique opens after multi-million refurbishment

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

A new boutique hotel, the West Park, has officially opened in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, following a multi-million pound 18-month refurbishment

The West Park has been transformed from the original Victorian coach house into a 25-bedroom and suite hotel with a restaurant and bar overlooking the Harrogate Stray in the centre of town.

The hotel includes eight individually designed suites, with one specifically being named Le Grand Depart, to commemorate the Tour de France which passed through the town in July.

The hotel restaurant includes a courtyard for al fresco dining along with two private dining rooms catering up for 70 guests.

Some of the hotel’s quirky features include Olli the West Park duck in every bathroom and an extensive drinks menu boasting 32 different cocktails including the West Park signature cocktail – the Tea Party on the Stray for 2.

Michael Ibbotson, managing director of owner Provenance Inns, said: “We began the multi-million pound refurbishment over 18 months ago and we’re thrilled that we’re now finally ready to open the doors to the public.”

The West Park hotel is part of the Provenance Inns group, which includes The Carpenters Arms in Felixkirk, The Oak Tree in Helperby, The Crown and Cushion in Welburn, The Black Bull in Moulton, The Punch Bowl in Marton Cum Grafton and The Durham Ox in Crayke.
