In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

The Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club, one of the UK’s largest gold hotels, has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Spread across 150 acres in the Northamptonshire countryside, the property features a 247-room hotel, an 18-hole golf course and a separate leisure centre with a 15‑metre pool.

The site is also home to the Grill Restaurant, the Catesby Bar and the Golf Bar and Patio, as well as conferencing and events facilities across 61 meeting rooms.

Christie and Co, who managed the sale, said that with its various hospitality, wellness and outdoor facilities, Staverton Park caters to corporate and leisure guests alike year round.

The property’s buyers are a UK-based family business, who plan to enhance its already successful operations through investment.

Christie and Co acted on behalf of funds managed by Zetland Capital.

The property was brought to market in September 2024, at which time Christie and Co said it offered “exceptional opportunity for a new owner to build upon its growing success and increasing profitability”.

Commenting on the sale, Christie and Co head of brokerage Jeremy Jones, said: “The sale of Staverton Park represents the largest transaction of a full-service golf resort this year. The substantial growth in consumer spending on fitness, leisure and wellness, is reflected in trading levels at resort hotels like Staverton.”
