Luxury five-star hotel, Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, has appointed Ronan Barrett as its new commercial director.
With over 20 years of hospitality experience under his belt, Ronan first cut his teeth in the industry at Shannon College of Hotel Management, including time spent as a chef at the Victoria Jungfrau hotel in Switzerland.
Throughout his career he has worked his way up the ranks in some of the world’s leading hotels and hospitality providers in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, holding senior management roles in sales, marketing and branding.
He also held a three year position as brand director for ‘Forevermark’, by the De Beers group of companies, which specialises in the world’s most exclusive diamonds.
He joins The Caledonian from luxury hotel specialists, Pineapple, where he was the marketing director.
Dale McPhee, general manager at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, said: “Ronan brings a wealth of experience and personality to the role. Coupled with extensive international experience and a sound commercial knowledge, his passion and dedication shown in previous roles will no doubt be embraced in this position with the same level of enthusiasm and drive.”
