Clermont Hotel Group has launched a partnership with RADA Business to deliver specialist performance training to 1,700 team members.
The hotel operator engaged the commercial arm of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to design its Summer Skills Fest training programme.
The initiative includes three separate presentation skills workshops for individuals and teams across the business.
The training uses core acting techniques to help staff perform roles with consistency, including RADA’s ‘body, breath and voice’ framework, whilst “building intentional behaviours and centring the customer in every interaction”.
The training has already been delivered to more than 50 front-of-house workers at the Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen restaurant, which opened at the Cumberland hotel in April.
Amanda Hall, head of talent and organisational development director for Clermont, said: “This new approach to training demonstrates how we are re-thinking hospitality as an experience, not just a service.
“By partnering with RADA Business, we are empowering our teams to create something truly special, where every interaction contributes to a story our guests can feel part of.”
Helen Slater, MD, RADA Business, added: “At its heart, great hospitality is about human connection. Our training is about helping people to show up as their best selves at work, using theatre-based principles: a grounded presence, clarity of message, and interactive storytelling. In this case, it is about enabling service professionals to bring a brand story to life, consistently, for every guest.”
