Gosforth Hall, a 17th Century coaching inn situated in the Lake District, has been brought to the property market for £1.8m.
The hotel has 19 en-suite letting bedrooms, six of which are located in the main property, and include a “wealth of original features” such as sandstone walls, wooden beams, and fireplaces.
The remaining 13 bedrooms are housed within a modern purpose-built annex, which also offers two communal lounge/kitchen areas.
The property also has an “extensive” food and beverage offering with a dedicated bar snug, separate resident’s lounge for 18 patrons and a restaurant accommodating 36 diners.
The business has been owned and operated by Rod and Barbara Davies for the past 18 years and is being offered to the market as a retirement sale.
Barbara said: “It’s been such a pleasure building a successful business in such a beautiful part of the lake district. The memories we will take will only be equaled by the friends we have made.”
Alistair Greenhalgh, director at Christie and Co, who is handling the sale, said: “During their tenure Rod & Barbara have invested significantly in Gosforth Hall, tastefully updating the guest accommodation whilst retaining many attractive original features.
“The diversified income from both the letting accommodation and the food & beverage trade, coupled with the picturesque location, which provides an ideal base for exploring the Lake District National Park, makes Gosforth Hall attractive to a wide variety of potential purchasers.”
