The Jacobean Building, situated in Glasgow’s Merchant City, has been brought to the market for a minimum price of £1.33m.

Full planning permission has been granted for an 18-room boutique hotel, as well as a bar and restaurant on the lower floors. 

The grade A-listed building contains five floors, totalling to a gross internal area of roughly 783 sq m.

Also included in the property is consent for an extension that would provide an extra 30 sq m at each floor level.

The “upscale” establishment would reportedly sit well within the chic centre hub that is Merchant City.

Jonathan McManus, part of the commercial agency department at DM Hall, who is marketing the property, said: “The property is on the fringe of the vibrant Merchant City area, with its diverse mix of retailing, pubs, restaurant and residential accommodation.

“Notes of interest are invited for our clients heritable interest in the property at offers over £1.33m.”

Further included in the planning permission is an alcohol license until 1.00am that also allows access for children.
