Hotel management company Redefine BDL has added 22 hotels in the InterContinential Hotels Group (IHG) to its managed portfolio.
The deal adds a further 19 Holiday Inns and three Crown Plaza hotels, which have a combined annual turnover of £200m, and will add 2,300 staff and almost 6,000 rooms.
Because of this growth, Redefine BDL will increase its team of “central hotel specialists” from 95 to more than 135, move its London base to new, larger premises, and extend the existing Glasgow office.
Helder Pereira, CEO of Redefine BDL Hotels, said: “This is a landmark addition to the Redefine BDL Hotels portfolio and we are very pleased with the quality and prestige of the properties we will be managing and the calibre of the workforce we are inheriting. We look forward to working with LRG as a key hotel owner and further strengthening our successful partnership with IHG.”
Management of the properties will start in 2015 and include five central London hotels, notably the 906-bedroom Holiday Inn Kensington Forum, plus Holiday Inn Edinburgh, Holiday Inn Cardiff City, Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport and Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC.
