International recognition for Cranleigh Boutique’s new suites

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

The Cranleigh Boutique’s new Church Suites have been nominated for two top design accolades which give recognition to hotels across the world.

The ‘International Hotel & Property Awards 2015’ has shortlisted the hotel’s Church Suites for the awards of ‘Best Hotel Suite, Global’ and ‘Best Hotel Suite, Europe’.

Hosted by interior design magazine, design et al, the winners of the awards will be decided upon by a vote from industry professionals as well as readers of the magazine.

The Cranleigh Boutique, located in Bowness-on-Windermere, launched the Church Suites in January this year.

The suites feature intelligent controlled lighting, music and video, for complete control of the room’s environment, iPad control panels, electric blackout blinds, and air spa tranquillity baths, with the Fantasy Suite featuring a glass bathroom.

Owner Stephen Hargreaves said: “Both the Cranleigh Boutique and the Hideout House have won numerous awards over the past couple of years, but with the Church Suites, we have really taken the accommodation experience to the next level.

“We are stunned to have been shortlisted for not just one, but two international awards and particularly one that specialises in global cutting edge design. Whether we win or not, it’s a great honour and a fantastic achievement for a small business in Cumbria.”

The awards ceremony will take place on June 20 at a yet unannounced European location.
