Shiva Hotels has purchased The Kingsway Hall Hotel, a landmark property in London’s Covent Garden, for £96m.

A further £15m has been committed to fully refurbish and extend the property to make it into a “unique London hotel”, including a restaurant and bar, luxury spa and additional deluxe bedrooms.

Rishi Sachdev, managing director of Shiva Hotels, said: “We have made no secret of our strategy to build a portfolio of quality hotels in Central London. Kingsway Hall is a high profile addition and demonstrates we are achieving our goal in a very competitive market. These are exciting times for the Shiva team.’’

Shiva has over 2,000 bedrooms in London either operational or under development. These include Millenium Bridge House overlooking the Thames, Vandon House in Buckingham Gate, Morley House on Holborn Viaduct, Hampton by Hilton in Waterloo and Lincoln Plaza at Canary Wharf.
