Michelin-starred Burlington named ‘Best Hotel Restaurant’

The Burlington at the Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel at Bolton Abbey has been named ‘Best Hotel Restaurant’ for 2013 at the recent Oliver Awards.

Recognising the best Yorkshire’s hospitality industry has to offer, the 2013 instalment of the Oliver Awards were held at the Centenary Pavilions in Leeds.

The Burlington, which has retained its Michelin star for the fifth successive year in this year’s Michelin Guide, was also recently awarded 4 AA rosettes, making it the highest rated restaurant in Yorkshire.

“This award really is special. Yorkshire has some excellent hotels and restaurants and so to be the best is praise indeed,” said Andrew Mackay, general manager of the Devonshire Arms.

“The people who work here are paramount – it doesn’t matter how good our facilities are, it’s the staff that makes the difference. Time and again, I receive letters from guests who congratulate individual members of staff for their courtesy and care and, in particular, for their friendly approach.”
