Best Western Monkbar Hotel in York is reporting a 25 per cent increase in wedding bookings, thanks to a new initiative which puts itself centre stage.
Since last November, the hotel has hosted a series of open evenings, where brides and grooms can get a look and feel of the venue. However, unlike traditional wedding fairs where a host of experts showcase their services and talents, on these occasions it is just the hotel on show and it has seen some great results.
Graham Usher, the hotel manager explained: “With our open evenings, we lay up one of our function rooms in four different styles. This way, couples can concentrate solely on the venue, and it is paying dividends. We have seen a 25 per cent increase in bookings and we are attributing a lot of this down to our open evenings.”
The next Best Western Monkbar Hotel wedding venue open evening is being held between 5pm and 8pm on Thursday11 July.
