Fire breaks out at Norfolk hotel

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust said no one has been hurt

A fire has broken out at the Breckland Lodge hotel in Norfolk.

According to reports, 14 fire engines were called to Breckland Lodge in Attleborough after the alarm went off at 9:20am.

Paul Seaman, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Unfortunately, Breckland Lodge will be closed for some time. It is a tragic loss for the area and hopefully we will see it being rebuilt for the future.”

The hotel group posted a statement onto their Facebook page, which said: “It is a very sad day for us here. The fire has taken hold of our restaurant and coffee lounge and the damage is severe.

“Bookings for our restaurant, coffee lounge and hotel for the next month have been immediately cancelled with an update going forward to be given over the next few days.

We will contact as many of you with bookings as possible as soon as we can.”
