Rockliffe Hall names The High Tide Foundation as its nominated charity for 2018

Members of the hotel team will take part in a range fundraising initiatives including the Great North Run and the Three Peaks Challenge

Luxury hotel Rockliffe Hall has linked with The High Tide Foundation as its nominated charity for 2018.

Opened in November 2009, Rockliffe Hall is an AA-rated 5-star leisure resort set within 375- acres on the banks of the River Tees just outside the village of Hurworth, County Durham.

The High Tide Foundation brings together industry and education across Teesside to increase awareness of career opportunities, showcase the region’s industry and raise aspirations for young people in the Tees Valley.

The hotel hopes to help raise thousands of pounds for The High Tide Foundation through a range of events including golf days, private dining and afternoon tea events. Members of the Rockliffe Hall team will also take part in a range fundraising initiatives including the Great North Run and the Three Peaks Challenge.

In addition, on check-out, guests at the 61-bedroom hotel will be asked if they’d like to make a voluntary £1 donation to High Tide.

This strategy raised nearly £5000 for Daisy Chain, Rockliffe Hall’s charity partner in 2017.

Eamonn Elliott, chief executive at Rockliffe Hall, said: “We’re delighted to link with The High Tide Foundation for 2018. We are inundated with requests from charities to link up with them and choosing one key charity each year helps us focus our fundraising initiatives.

“We chose High Tide because of the charity’s dedication to the young people of the Tees Valley. They’ve been instrumental in raising aspiration and improving awareness of career opportunities across the key business sectors on Teesside, and we hope the money we raise throughout 2018 helps the organisation continue to do its inspirational work.”

Lauren Bywater, general manager of The Hide Tide Foundation, added: “We are delighted to be selected as the charity of choice for Rockliffe Hall. The High Tide Foundation is built on partnerships and we very much look forward to growing our relationship with the team at Rockliffe Hall.”
