The property, which was on the market for three months, houses 19-ensuite bedrooms, a restaurant with a mezzanine breakfast room, and a large function space.
The hotel is surrounded by 12 acres of gardens and has been reported to have “good levels of repeat business”. Brothers, Robert and David Hester who have owned and operated the hotel since 2011 and made the decision to sell it in order to retire from the sector.
The hotel was purchased by Nigel, Phillip and David at RMM Holdings Limited, who completed the sale through Christie and Co.
Nigel Marcantonio, RMM Holdings said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of Marshall Meadows. Upon viewing the property, we immediately saw the potential of the site with its wonderful location, idyllic grounds and the beautiful buildings.
“The hotel will be undergoing an extensive refurbishment and redecoration programme throughout the first half of 2021 and we aim to re-open in the summer. “
He added: “The revamped hotel will feature 22 boutique bedrooms, including a stunning master suite with amazing sea views. We are looking forward to this new venture and turning Marshall Meadows into a leading hotel and wedding venue in the North East.”
