Valor Hospitality Partners, a global, full-service hotel management company, has announced a new operating agreement, with the addition of 17 regional IHG Hotels and Resorts branded hotels which will see its expansion into the UK.

The move comes in partnership with owner MCAP Global Finance (UK), an affiliate of New York based investment manager Marathon Asset Management.

The addition of the “expansive” hotel portfolio doubles the group’s UK footprint, and according to the group, this growth is “fuelled by Valor’s guiding principle to offer unique, differentiated experiences for travellers that foster genuine connections with people and cultures, driven by its worldwide team of ‘Hotelitarians’”.

The latest portfolio consists of a total of 2,374 rooms across 15 Holiday Inns and two Crowne Plazas. The branded, full-service hotels are located in key regional markets across the UK, including Leeds, Leicester, Reading and Southampton

According to the group, each of the properties in the portfolio represent “well-positioned”, branded hotels that offer a range of amenities for travellers, including full leisure clubs with swimming pools to spa amenities, and recent renovations to guestrooms, public spaces, dining outlets and meeting and event venues.

Euan McGlashan, CEO and global co-founder of Valor Hospitality Partners, said: “To say we are highly motivated about this partnership in the UK is an understatement. Marathon is one of our most trusted and longstanding partners and we are so grateful to be expanding our footprint with them again.”

“Post-COVID, Valor Hospitality is in the process of reimagining the hotel landscape in the UK and we are thrilled to continue collaborating with new, as well as existing owners with this expansion goal firmly in our focus. Importantly, we are 100% committed to ensuring we deliver significant upside and strong commercial returns for our owners.”

Brian McCarthy, managing director UK and Europe, at Valor Hospitality, said: “We are delighted to be given this opportunity by Marathon and we are massively excited about starting the next chapter with them. We think this is testament to a job well done by Valor on their behalf over the past few years.

“For Valor, here in the UK, it should encourage other owners to consider our organisation when choosing a third-party management company. It also allows us to play a key role in the on-going evolution of Valor as it becomes a best in class, truly global management company. We couldn’t be happier as we embrace the challenges ahead, delivering culturally and commercially for Marathon and sincerely appreciate their trust in us”.
