Canopy by Hilton London City appoints GM

Canopy by Hilton, London City, which is set to be the UK’s first Canopy by Hilton property, has announced the appointment of Beatriz Orta as its new general manager. The opening of the new site, which will be launched by the 4C Hotel Group, will be overseen by Orta in her new role. She brings with her over 20 years of industry experience, and joins the site from Holiday Inn, London Camden Lock where she oversaw operations as general manager since 2016. In 2018 she was awarded with a ‘General Manager of the Year’ award that “recognised Orta’s remarkable talents for transforming hotel business strategy and recruiting and nurturing internal talent, resulting in a highly successful year for her team”. Canopy by Hilton, London City is located at the heart of London’s Minories development. The 340-room site will feature a rooftop terrace, café and destination restaurant, all of which are said to be inspired by the “eclectic culture of the local area”. Neil Taylor, COO of 4C Hotel Group, said: “We’re delighted to have Beatriz at the helm of our brand-new opening and for her to bring the positive, lifestyle ethos of the Canopy by Hilton brand to the UK.
