Intercontinental Hotels Group has opened its 1000th hotel in the Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa (EMEAA) region with the opening of InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, in Vietnam. \r\n\r\nAcross the EMEAA operates across eight brands, working in partnership with more than 500 hotel owners. \r\n\r\nIHG also has an extensive development pipeline in EMEAA with 321 hotels and 63,500 rooms set to open in the next 3-5 years.\r\n\r\nThe Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is located Phu Quoc island off the coast of Vietnam and features 459-luxurious rooms, suites and villas, an exclusive beachfront, six restaurants and bars and meeting facilities.\r\n\r\nThe rollout of Voco, IHG\u2019s newest brand in the $40bn (\u00a329.8bn) upscale market, will begin in EMEAA, with a first signing already announced in Australia. IHG plans to open more than 200 Voco hotels globally over the next 10 years. \r\n\r\n\r\nKenneth Macpherson, chief executive officer EMEAA, said: \u201cReaching 1,000 open hotels in the region with the addition of InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is a significant achievement for IHG.\r\n\r\n\u201cOur EMEAA region encompasses 71 countries, 26 time zones and some of the world\u2019s most visited cities.
