Dalata Hotel Group names Dermot Crowley as new CEO

The appointment comes as the founder of the company Pat McCann retires from the Board, with employment to cease on 31 December 2021

Dalata Hotel Group plc the largest hotel operator in Ireland has announced Dermot Crowley has succeeded Pat McCann as CEO, effective from November 2021.

Dalata has a strategy of owning or leasing its hotels and the group’s portfolio now consists of 29 owned hotels, 12 leased hotels and three management contracts with a total of 9,161 bedrooms.

It revealed the appointment comes as the founder of the company McCann retires from the Board, with employment to cease on 31 December 2021.

John Hennessy, group chairman, said: “On behalf of the board and the entire group I would like to once again thank Pat for his immense contribution to Dalata since founding the company in 2007.

“He has been instrumental in growing Dalata into the ambitious organisation that it is today. It has been a pleasure working with him since listing in 2014 and I wish him every success in the future.”

He added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Dermot well as he steps into the role of CEO. It is an exciting time for Dalata and the board is confident in Dermot’s ability to lead the company into the next phase. We look forward to working with him in the period ahead.”
