Apex Hotels launches Yu Spa brand in Edinburgh

Newly appointed head of spa, Fiona Young, will spearhead the expansion of the Yu Spa brand across its properties

Apex Hotels has launched an in-house spa at its Waterloo Place Hotel in Edinburgh, following a rebrand.

The spa has partnered with skincare brand Elemis to provide its products and treatments to guests.

Yu Spa, which already has a presence at Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa in Dundee, offers its own treatments, spa day packages and overnight packages.

The opening comes just weeks after the Scottish hotel group announced the appointment of Fiona Young as head of spa. She will spearhead the expansion of the Yu Spa brand across its properties.

Young has already expanded the spa offering with two new day-spa packages whilst the hotel also offers its own ‘Spa-cation’.

In her previous role, Young held a “high-profile role” at Crieff Hydro Hotel and Resort and Peebles Hydro. Young has a wealth of experience, having worked in the spa industry in the US for many years.

Apex Hotels has a portfolio of ten properties across the UK and has launched its second Yu Spa at the heart of Scotland’s capital.

Situated within Apex Waterloo Place Hotel, just minutes from Edinburgh Waverley station and Princes Street, it offers guests an “escape” from the city. The hotel has a swimming pool, thermal suite, gym and three treatment rooms.

Young said: “It’s an exciting time at Apex Waterloo Place Hotel as we invite guests and locals to experience our very own Yu Spa brand.

“Yu Spa is well established and popular in the city of Dundee, so we are thrilled to be able to bring the brand to Edinburgh, where Apex Hotels has its roots.”

She added: “We’ve built a fantastic offering that gives spa-goers the opportunity to experience a real oasis of calm and tranquillity in the heart of the capital – whether it’s for one treatment, a spa day or a full spa break.

“I am excited to be on this journey with Apex, as we embark on plans to introduce the Yu Spa brand to other hotels across the portfolio. I’ve had such a warm welcome from the team and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues and watch Yu Spa grow.”
