M&T Hotel Management, one of the UK’s leading hotel management companies, has agreed a new management contract with the Welcombe Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Following the recent additions of the Hampton by Hilton Waterloo (297 keys), the Doubletree by Hilton, York (143 keys) and the East London Hotel, Bethnal Green (161 keys) in the last few weeks, this latest hotel for the M&T portfolio comes through its operating partnership with the hotel investment vehicle, Conquer Dawn.
The hotel was acquired from Vivion Hotels and is the third asset in as many months to be acquired by Conquer Dawn.
The Welcombe Hotel is a Golf and Spa hotel located in Stratford upon Avon offering 91 bedrooms and is a Grade II listed building. It said the intention is to “significantly invest” in the property and reposition it as “one of the best golf and spa hotels in its market”.
M&T is the exclusive operating and advisory partner for Conquer Dawn. In this role, M&T helps identify, underwrite and then operate the assets on behalf of the vehicle.
Hugh Taylor OBE, CEO of Michels & Taylor, said: “We are delighted that Conquer Dawn has secured another great asset for its portfolio. The Welcombe is such a lovely hotel and with the investment plans M&T has developed with the investors, will become a truly iconic hotel in the UK country house market”.
Heath Forusz, MD of Conquer Dawn Limited, said: “We are very excited to have completed the acquisition of a third asset in the UK for our new vehicle. This asset meets our strategy of acquiring first class hotels in great locations with real potential for growth. We are excited for our plans for the Welcombe and reinstating the grandeur to this wonderful asset in partnership with M&T.
“We have a number of hotels in the pipeline and will continue to build on these initial acquisitions over the coming months to create a quality portfolio of hotel assets across the UK and Europe.”
