Holiday Inn Express opens in Cambridge West

Molo Hotel Group has opened the doors to its newest hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge West Cambourne.

Located between Cambridge and Cambourne Business Park, the hotel said it was “specially” constructed, and designed to suit the needs of travellers.

The hotel said it has created 17 new jobs upon opening, with the team led by general manager Ilhan Kose, who has joined with a “wealth of international experience”, also joined by Himalee Barber, who takes the position of sales manager.

According to Molo Hotels, it is the fourth UK property to open by the group, who have a number of properties currently under construction, both in the UK and abroad.

Designed by ICA architects and interior designers, the hotel is one of the “next generation” of Holiday Inn Express properties, and utilises modular technology for its 144 bedrooms, cutting down on material waste as well as transport emissions, measures which have contributed to the property’s A rating on Energy Performance.

Its eco-friendly credentials have been “further bolstered” with the use of air source heat pumps used to heat the property as well as the EV charging.

Additionally, guests looking to do business during their stay can make use of the “fully equipped” meeting room which seats up to sixteen people. Smaller meetings can take place in the lobby’s booths which come with tables equipped with integrated power, as well as providing a little extra privacy to guests working on-the-go.

Kose said: “It’s been an absolutely wonderful experience opening the hotel. We so appreciate the support we’ve received from our local community, and we’re relishing the opportunity to welcome guests for both business and leisure and the whole team has been so appreciative of the local support we have received so far.”

Ross Morrow, managing director, added: “we’ve started off 2022 in a strong way with the opening of Holiday Inn Express Cambridge West Cambourne. The hotel is a great example of how the Holiday Inn Express brand champions simple, smart travel by providing a unique and memorable experience, whether for business, leisure, or a little bit of both.”
