Lama said: “It’s a pleasure to become part of the De Vere family. The hotels have an excellent reputation and I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on that success and to deliver strong business growth across both properties.”

De Vere Latimer Estate in Buckinghamshire is set within 30 acres of grounds and features 27 flexible spaces for conferences, meetings, training and teambuilding across three distinctly different spaces, each with its own dedicated entrance and parking.

It boasts a “rich history” that dates back to the 16th Century when the original house held Charles I during his imprisonment. The red brick Tudor-style mansion house standing today was completed in 1838 and became the temporary host of captured German U-boat submarine crews and Luftwaffe pilots during the Second World War before becoming the National Defence College until 2006.

Meanwhile, De Vere Horsley Estate, located in East Horsley, Surrey, is set in acres of Surrey parkland surrounded by manicured grounds and a large lake. The property is home to the historic Horsley Towers, which recently underwent a multi-million-pound transformation, which has seen its event spaces, including the iconic Great Hall, renovated to ensure the property retains many of its original features dating back to 1822.

Horsley Towers also features 28 bedrooms, two function spaces, three meeting rooms and acres of grounds that can be hired out exclusively for events. The wider estate offers a further 33 meeting and event spaces, with space for up to 200 guests.
