Hillbrooke Hotels has added a fifth property to its luxury portfolio having recently acquired Holbrook Manor and Spa — a wedding venue in the heart of Somerset with 20 bedrooms, a health club, and fifteen acres of grounds.

Hillbrooke said it plans to refurbish the property in early 2023, launching it as a full-service hotel with additional secluded cabins.

Hillbrooke already operates four boutique hotels based in Lincolnshire and the New Forest, with the latest addition serving to “broaden its geographical roots as well as its high-end hospitality offering”.

Commenting on the acquisition, managing director, Paul Brown, said: “We are delighted to be expanding the Hillbrooke family and after a busy year refurbishing our existing hotels, it’s great to see the business broadening its horizons. Holbrook Manor and Spa is a perfect fit for our approach to hospitality and this was obvious right from the off.

“We want to maintain its reputation as a popular wedding destination, whilst adding our own hotel expertise to create a ‘go to’ destination in Somerset.”

The Georgian manor house offers an “abundance” of function space alongside lounge areas.
Hillbrooke added it will be looking to use these features as the foundation for its plans to expand Holbrook Manor into a full-service hotel, whilst adding all its “signature touches”.

Brown added: “This is a huge step in the right direction for Hillbrooke and we can’t wait to get started on our new project. We are incredibly lucky to acquire such a breathtaking venue, as well as inherit such an outstanding team of staff. I have every confidence that this venture will be a real success.”
