Boutique hospitality group GuestHouse is set to open the doors to the third property in its portfolio in Margate next Spring.
The new site, No.42, is set to “embrace all the nostalgia” from the seaside town. Housed within a Victorian beachfront building, No.42 features arcaded frontage, 21 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop and spa.
Drawing inspiration from “iconic” Margate sights, No.42 GuestHouse’s team will realise interiors which “playfully draw from the motifs and seaside character of the town to create a sense of nostalgia through unexpected moments and subtle references that embrace Margate’s quirky and playful nature”.
Spaces are said to be “warm, inviting, and spirited, steering away from formality and pretention and embracing Margate’s humble backgrounds, lively social scene and distinctive character”.
The interior will feature chalky whites, moody greens and golden yellow tones, accented and contrasted with hints of pink and red and providing a nod to the nearby land and seascape. Texture and movement associated with the sea will feature in the furniture, fixtures, and surface finishes.
The opening of No.42 marks the latest steps in GuestHouse’s expansion, with a fourth site set to open in Brighton in late 2023.
