Institute of Hospitality names new chair IoH London region

Andrew Coney has been the GM of the Hari London since 2014

The Institute of Hospitality has named general manager of The Hari London, Andrew Coney FIH, as the first IoH chair of the London region, under the Institute’s new English regional structure.

Coney will be working alongside the IoH central team to devise and implement a plan of exciting activities for members and non-members across the new London region in the coming weeks.

Confirming the appointment, Kellie Rixon MBE FIH, IoH supervisory board chair said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew as chair of the London Branch of the IoH. In the many years I’ve known Andrew he has always been an outstanding ambassador for our sector.

“His engagement and involvement in many associations, charities and industry initiatives has seen him build an extensive network of supporters and his London experience will help the London regional committee really flourish.”

IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH, who led the evolution of the new English regional restructure at the IoH this year, added: “Andrew is an outstanding leader and people advocate. His record of past achievements and current commitments is outstanding.

“Andrew sets the bar extremely high in everything he does and is totally passionate and committed to hospitality. He is now an intrinsic part of our hospitality family, and I know he will help us deliver great things to our local members and the wider IoH membership in the coming months.”

Coney, who has been GM of The Hari since 2014, said: “I’m delighted and committed to help Kellie, Robert and the IoH team provide increased involvement and engagement with the local IoH London membership.

“The IoH has undergone a massive transformation under Robert’s leadership over the last 14 months and I’m excited to be able to help deliver that inspiration, support and encouragement across London.”
