The Chapel House Hotel, a family-run hotel, restaurant and wedding venue in Scarborough, has been brought to market off a guide price of £1.1m.
The property is located on the corner of Ramshill Road in the area of South Cliff in Scarborough and features 14 en-suite bedrooms, a large 100-cover restaurant and a private function room.
It is reported that the red brick property dates back to 1850 and has been maintained to “a very high standard” after undergoing a sympathetic renovation and conversion in 2015.
This is said to have transformed the hotel into a spacious luxury accommodation offering, whilst retaining the building’s many original features, including a beautiful pre-Raphaelite Chapel.
The sale of the Chapel House Hotel will provide an opportunity for a new owner to acquire “a well-trading business with multiple income streams”, in a tourist hotspot along Yorkshire’s Heritage Coastline.
In addition, Scarborough has an abundance of national parks and “honeypot” towns waiting to be explored, and the hotel is an ideal base to explore the region.
Sam Ashton, senior business agent at Christie and Co, said: “With hotel and guesthouse accommodation across the North East Yorkshire coast in high demand, this is a solid and sustainable business venture that could be driven further by utilising the events and function space and the wonderful letting rooms within the property.
“The property has benefitted from Scarborough’s year-round tourism over the years and we welcome negotiations from interested parties.”
