Francisco Macedo, general manager at the five-red-star hotel and country estate located on Dartmoor National Park in Devon, Bovey Castle, has stepped down from his role with immediate effect.
Macedo joined the property, which is part of the Eden Collection, in 2015 as hotel manager and was promoted to general manager in 2017.
Set in 275 acres of countryside on Dartmoor National Park, the flagship Eden Hotel Collection property has 60 bedrooms, 22 lodges, an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and an Elan Spa – complete with Art Deco swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, treatment rooms and a dedicated Gentlemen’s Quarter.
Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, said: “We are sad to bid farewell to Francisco, who has helped shape the hotel during its recent transformation. Bovey Castle’s former resort director, Greg Fehler, has stepped back in to head up the hotel’s senior management team until an outstanding new general manager is found.
“Fehler has a wealth of hospitality experience and joined Bovey Castle in 2014 to oversee the comprehensive refurbishment programme and lead the hotel’s transformation.”
Since Eden Hotel Collection acquired the Castle back in 2014, the hotel has won numerous awards including the five red-AA stars in 2017 for its hospitality.
