Ferret will commence his duties in September, replacing Filip Boyen, who has been the group’s CEO since October 2015. He will be responsible for SLH’s international teams in addition to leading strategic direction of the brand’s luxury portfolio of more than 500 independent hotels worldwide.
He has previously worked in several leadership positions as the CEO at the French association Relais & Châteaux for more than six years, the director general of Hertz France and the managing director and president of Manpower France.
Ferret, who has 30 years’ experience in the industry, has held travel and hospitality positions in France as deputy managing director of American Express Travel, managing director of Thomas Cook, senior VP of Thomas Cook in West Europe, and CFO of Compass Group.
Ferret said: “Small Luxury Hotels of the World has gone through significant change in the last few years and I look forward to leading the talented international teams in further strengthening the brands operations and global footprint.”
Jérôme Tourbier, president of the advisory board of directors of SLH, added: “I am very pleased to welcome Jean-François Ferret as CEO. His experience and talent will enable the organisation to take another step forward in developing the activities of our hotel members and to grow the SLH brand internationally.
“His knowledge and expertise within the travel, hospitality, luxury and technology industries are key assets needed within the fast changing and developing global landscape.”
