Dorsett Hospitality International welcomes new Area GM

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Dorsett Hospitality International has appointed Mark Gallagher as its newly appointed Area general manager UK.

Dorsett Hospitality International is one of Asia’s fastest growing hotel groups. As a Hong Kong hospitality brand, it operates an international footprint in 25 major cities worldwide with a total of 54 properties including Dorsett Hospitality International’s four core brands: Dorsett Hotels, Dao by Dorsett, d.Collection, and Silka.

Gallagher will be Area GM for all UK based properties including Dorsett Shepherds Bush, Dorsett City London, Dao by Dorsett West London and the much anticipated Dao by Dorsett Hornsey Town Hall and Dorsett Canary Wharf.

He joins Dorsett from IHG Hotels and Resorts where he worked as senior cluster general manager within the UK&I managed portfolio. He brings over 20 years of experience as a senior leader in the hospitality industry in the UK to his new role.

After completing his degree in Business and Finance, Gallagher climbed the ranks to GM with companies including Thistle and Guoman Hotels (now glh Hotels), starting in Glasgow before being enticed to their flagship properties in London.

He also led the creation of the Amba Hotel brand and the transformation of the 700 keys Amba Hotel Marble Arch through refurbishment and rebranding, and was made head of Operations for the brand.

Dorsett Hospitality International’s head of Operations – Europe, Rebecca Kwan, said: “We are very excited to have Mark join the Dorsett family as he brings a wealth of experience, energy and enthusiasm to our team, and we look forward to having him lead the expansion and growth of the company in the UK.”
