Pride of Britain Hotels has appointed Mark Chambers, group managing director for Eden Hotel Collection, as chairman of its board.
Taking over from Sue Williams, managing director of Whatley Manor, Chambers will work closely with the senior leadership team of Pride of Britain Hotels and oversee the board members, made up of leading hoteliers.
Alongside Pride of Britain Hotels’ CEO Kalindi Juneja, the board includes Sue Williams, Andrew McPherson, general manager of Grantley Hall, Craig Bancroft, managing director of Northcote, Jason Adams, managing director at Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort, Jill Chalmers, managing director of Glenapp Castle and Ross Grieve, managing director at Seaham Hall.
Chambers said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chairman of Pride of Britain Hotels. It is such an exciting time for the consortium with much to be positive about, and I am confident of and very much looking forward to a successful 2023. Early next year we have some exciting news that will be sure to elevate the brand, as well as increase the profile of our collection to consumers and fellow hoteliers.
“Whilst there are many positive projects and objectives on our agenda, I also recognise we have tough times ahead for our industry and I pledge to ensure we are constantly working closely with all stakeholders to support our members as best we can through these uncertain times.”
He added: “My predecessor Sue successfully oversaw the transition and introduction of a new CEO, as well as navigated us through the restart following COVID, and on behalf of the board and our members, I thank her for her excellent stewardship over the past two years.”
Kalindi Juneja, CEO of Pride of Britain Hotels, said: “Mark has a remarkable drive for business with well thought out strategy and long-term vision. He is currently our longest serving board member and brings profound context to every debate. I am very excited to be working closely with him over the next two years as we continue to drive the brand and inspire consumers with our collection of leading, unique British hotels.”
