The Blackaddie House Hotel in Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, has been put up for sale off a guide price of £995,000.
The hotel is set within approximately 2.5 acres of gardens and lawned areas on the banks of the river Nith, in the Dumfries and Galloway countryside.
The 16th Century hotel offers six letting bedrooms and three self-contained river view cottages, a bar, formal restaurant, conservatory and a one bedroom flat. The property also features a two bedroom owners house, set in a private converted barn.
The hotel’s restaurant uses fresh produce grown in the private gardens, and is popular as a wedding and private function destination.
Brian Sheldon, regional director at Christie and Co, who is handling the sale, said: “The hotel and restaurant benefit from much repeat business due to its quality of accommodation, location, and the quality of food on offer. Whether you stay in the hotel, or in one of the private stylish cottages, there is many things to do within the immediate area or further afield.
“The hotel is popular as a wedding and private function destination with the hotel available on an ‘exclusive’ basis. There is no doubt that the hotel and restaurant would be ideal for a chef proprietor, much like the two previous owners.”
