EasyHotel makes Irish debut with new Dublin opening

EasyHotel has officially opened its brand-new city centre Dublin hotel, marking its first move into Ireland as it aims to double the size of its estate internationally to 100 hotels by 2026. The newly built 160-room hotel is located in the centre of Dublin, only a 10-minute walk from Heuston train station and six minutes from Smithfield tram stop. The site is also near to popular tourist attractions including the Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar and Dublin Castle. For business travellers, it is within walking distance to several business parks such as The Guinness Enterprise Centre and Iconic Offices. According to EasyHotel, the hotel was built in an environmentally conscious way with efficient use of energy and space to minimise its carbon footprint as the group “seeks to become the new European leader in affordable, low-carbon hotels”. Additionally, the hotel holds a BREEAM Certification mark and uses a natural ventilation system to help reduce the carbon footprint. The latest addition takes EasyHotel’s portfolio to 44 hotels across Europe, which are made up of owned, franchised and leased hotels across 11 countries. The group is aiming to have hotels open in 15 countries in the next 15 months. Karim Malak, CEO at EasyHotel, said: “It’s fantastic to be opening our first hotel in Ireland and the dynamic city of Dublin. It’s a brilliant city which is gaining more and more traction with both tourists and business travellers, and we are looking forward to giving people affordable ways to experience it. “I’m proud of our ability to offer people low-carbon stays which are friendlier towards the environment. Our compact hotel designs mean we use 15-20% less carbon than the market average for each stay. Guests will still enjoy all the important elements needed for a great night's sleep – a comfortable mattress, blackout blinds and a quiet room.” He added: “Our expansion strategy is targeting prime European capital cities for new easyHotels, and 2022 has seen us make good progress against this. We’re focused on delivering our plan to reach 100 hotels by 2026, having recently opened a new hotel in Madrid, with new hotels scheduled to open in 2023 in Paris and Zurich."
