Whalesborough Holiday Cottages and Spa has been sold for an undisclosed price to a private buyer following a confidential marketing process.
The property sits on the North Cornwall coast, near Bude. Set over 411 acres, it comprises a range of residential properties, a five-star holiday letting business and a “substantial” development opportunity to further increase the number of units on site.
In addition, it includes purpose built facilities including a restaurant and bar, W Leisure Club and other recreational pursuits.
Whalesborough is located in an accessible position off the A39 ‘Atlantic Highway’ and provides a base for holidaymakers to explore this area of North Cornwall with Bude and Widemouth Bay both on the doorstep.
James Greenslade, director in the Hotel Capital Markets team at Savills, who led the sale, said: “We are delighted to complete the sale of this high quality leisure business following a competitive but confidential process which attracted interest from a range of investors.”
Chris Sweeney, director in the Leisure and Trade Related Property team at Savills, added: “Well-located leisure businesses continue to be in demand as investors have seen how resilient they have been through previous volatility. With more people drawn to staycations the opportunity to appeal to this growing customer base is incredibly attractive and so we expect demand to remain robust in this sector.”
