Maybourne Hotel Group, the operator of Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley, has announced its fourth London hotel, The Emory, which is set to open winter 2023 in Knightsbridge.
The Emory, which is set to be a “modern architectural masterpiece” designed by Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour from architectural firm RSHP, will have a private entrance on Old Barrack Yard.
It will also have 60 all-suite rooms spread over nine floors, as well as a penthouse designed by Rigby and Rigby.
Maybourne Group’s latest venue will also have a restaurant by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who will introduce his “highly acclaimed” ABC concept of fresh, local and conscious cuisine to London for the first time from his Manhattan outpost.
In addition, The Emory will have a wellness space with a 22 metre pool beneath ground level.
The group has already appointed hotelier Knut Wylde as the venue’s new general manager, in addition to his existing role as the GM of The Berkeley.
Gianluca Muzzi, CEO of Maybourne Hotel Group, said: “This is our first new London property in 50 years, and we believe it will be a truly groundbreaking new addition to our distinguished hotel family. We plan to bring the inspiration and creative energy that have made our other hotels so notable, whilst also making The Emory a world class hub of art and culture.
“This opening further cements our vision and commitment to growing Maybourne Hotel Group, and heralds a bold new future for the company.”
