Daish Holidays has announced that it has seen a 44% increase in January bookings compared with the same period last year.

This comes after the group had a record breaking Christmas period where hotel occupancy was up 21% compared with 2021.

Figures released by Daish’s Holidays support a recent survey from GoCompare stating that the percentage of people who will choose a staycation in 2023 has more than tripled. It has risen from 12% to 41%.

Paul Harper, commercial director at Daish’s Holidays, said: “The booking figures we have seen in recent months are extremely encouraging and could highlight that the UK travel and tourism is thriving once again following being hit hard by the pandemic. These are all encouraging signs and we are witnessing that our occupancy is on the up.
