An unnamed independent hotel group has purchased the Fowey Valley Hotel in Lostwithiel, a small town in the heart of Cornwall, for an undisclosed amount.
The Fowey Valley Hotel, which is located in the centre of Lostwithiel and trades under the Best Western franchise brand, has been owned by independent operators since 2003, who made the decision to sell in order to reinvest in their separate core business.
The property comes with 38 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant and bar, as well as a recently refurbished heated outdoor pool.
In recent years, the owners had undertaken a continued program of refurbishments to the property, which included creating two additional letting bedrooms.
According to Christie and Co, who brokered the sale, the hotel enjoys a spread of bookings from tourists and commercial travellers alike.
Stephen Champion, director in Christie and Co’s South West hotels team, said: “Following the launch of the Fowey Valley Hotel to market in late 2022, we received significant levels interest from a wide range of operators, as quality hotel opportunities are still very much in demand across the South West region despite the real challenges facing the hospitality sector.
“We are delighted to announce the successful sale and wish the new owners all the best with their recent acquisition.”
