The Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and Spa will be put up for sale as a result of “unsustainable food and energy costs”.
The Welsh hotel put in a statement on its facebook page that the economic climate has made the business unviable. The hotel will continue to trade until a buyer is found.
The Cwrt Bleddyn was acquired by leisure investment firm Oxshott Global in 2012 and currently operates as a Ramada property managed by Lester Hotels Management Services.
The statement also confirmed that anyone who had a wedding booked at the hotel would have the hotel’s “continued commitment”. Customers with future bookings were contacted individually.
The company statement said: “Like many businesses recently, the Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel and Spa has faced challenging economic conditions including unsustainable food and energy cost increases. This has made the business sadly unviable. While seeking a buyer, we will continue to operate under licence, managed by Lester Hotels Management Services Ltd.
“Whilst we can’t speak on behalf of any future owners, we hope that the long-held affection we have in the local community will enable us to continue to welcome guests long after a new buyer is found.
As of yet it is unclear who will be leading the sale and how much the owners will be asking for.
