A new hotel located in the wilderness of the Isle of Skye in Scotland has announced it will be opening on 7 April.
Focused entirely on the environment, the Bracken Hide Hotel is designed to mimic a blade that appears to have been uprooted from the landscape, with the interiors also reflecting the palette and textures that surround it. This new 4-star hotel wants to bridge the gap between a traditional luxury hotel and wilderness-style accommodation.
The Hub will be the focal point of the hotel and will house the restaurant, whisky bar, lounge, and screening and games rooms. Adjacent to the hub is a pair of Nordic saunas with a plunge pool pond for wild swimming.
The hotel will have 27 en-suite cabins, set in clusters across the 53-acre site, and guests will be able to enjoy room service, underfloor heating and en suite smart shower rooms while being given complete privacy. The cabins are all made from sustainable timber and will benefit with views across Loch Portree and the Sound of Raasay.
The Hub houses the hotel’s restaurant, Fraser’s, has been designed by three Edinburgh-trained architects from West Port Architects, and will be overseen by chef patron George Fraser. The restaurant will offer locally sourced produce such as 26-day aged Highland beef, venison from the island and hand-dived scallops.
For guests looking to explore more of the island, the hotel has partnered with Skye Adventure, which offers adventures from scaling the “iconic” Cuillin to kayaking along the fractured coastline.
The Bracke Hide is already open for in advance bookings and costs from £150 per night.
