The Bürgenstock Collection has announced that The Adria in Kensington will become its first property outside of Switzerland.
The Adria is the fourth hotel in the collection, alongside Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, Hotel Schweizerhof Bern and Spa, and the Royal Savoy Hotel and Spa Lausanne.
It was acquired by Katara Hospitality, parent company for the Bürgenstock Collection, in 2021.
The property underwent a £1m restoration, led by renowned hospitality interior design consultants Hirsch Bedner Associates, before opening its doors to the public in January 2022.
The hotel has 24 boutique rooms and suites in a “contemporary luxury and antique style”.
Stefan Leser, executive director of The Bürgenstock Collection, said: “The addition of The Adria to The Bürgenstock Collection is an exciting step for the group, in welcoming our first property outside of Switzerland. The Adria embodies all the qualities we strive for in a hotel, with the utmost in service, style and a prestigious heritage. It will be a pleasure to work with the team in London to continue developing The Adria’s respected reputation both within the city and internationally.”
Gary Redmond, general manager at The Adria, added: “Joining the esteemed team at The Bürgenstock Collection is an exciting prospect for the hotel. To be aligned with some of the most recognised properties within Europe and being able to learn from their expertise is exciting for the whole team at The Adria.”
