Easyhotel has announced that its Paddington site will undergo a £1m refurbishment with new rooms and communal areas.
The full refurbishment is expected to be complete by September, with most of the work finished by June.
The hotel is being renovated in stages to ensure that guests will not be affected.
The 47-bedroom hotel, opened in 2008, is owned and operated by local businessman Ali Al Rubaye who is covering the refurbishment costs as the hotel is modernised floor by floor.
The refurbishment will include brand new four-star style mattresses and upgraded bathrooms, as well as sustainable timber used throughout the rooms.
Karim Malak, CEO of Easyhotel, said: “We’re pleased to be working in close partnership with Heshem and his team to modernise easyHotel Paddington, updating the room design and further reducing the carbon used in the running of the hotel. Our franchise model offers a great opportunity for those looking to associate their hotel with an instantly recognisable value brand.
“We are seeing a real resurgence in the popularity of affordable accommodation across both the UK and the rest of Europe for people wanting to travel, as well as people looking for more eco-friendly, no-frills offerings that deliver the best of value.”
Heshem Shumen, hotel manager of EasyHotel Paddington, added: “It’s great to be part of the easyHotel brand and provide guests with a super priced stay, so that they can spend their money on the city they came to explore. This year marks 15 years of being a franchise partner of easyHotel and this investment is part of our commitment to the brand which has attracted hundreds of thousands of guests to the hotel over the years.
“Our compact rooms offer visitors what they need for a great sleep and with this new investment, guests will be getting a much more modern room and we’ll be getting an even more efficient hotel. The first few rooms have been completed and the feedback from guests has been great.”
The refurbishment is one of several taking place across the easyHotel network including a similar refurbishment at London Victoria as well as a £4.5M low carbon investment across a further 12 UK hotels.
