Hand Picked Hotels has appointed a new husband and wife team to lead the management of Braye Beach Hotel, in Alderney, Guernsey.
It confirmed Scott and Katey McDonald have taken over the management of the award-winning hotel to “elevate its position as a leading coastal boutique hotel in the Channel Islands”.
The McDonald’s have previously worked together at Hand Picked Hotels’ AA Four Red Star L’Horizon Beach Hotel and Spa in St Brelade’s Bay, Jersey and more recently at Thainstone House Hotel, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Scott is a hospitality professional with 25 years’ experience across a broad range of four and five-star properties.
Katey is a seasoned sales manager with a range of experience across country house hotels, city centre and international resorts.
Julia Hands, founder, owner and CEO, Hand Picked Hotels, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Katey and Scott back to the Hand Picked Hotels family, and our Channel Islands’ properties. Having worked with them previously on L’Horizon Beach Hotel and Spa, we know they embody our core values of family, community, initiative and individuality and are the perfect team to lead the growth and development of Braye Beach Hotel.”
Simon Miller, regional general manager, Channel Islands at Hand Picked Hotels, added: “We’re really excited to welcome Scott and Katey back to the Channel Islands. They have a wealth of experience in hospitality, bringing with them a combination of talents in team management, guest experience and customer service and I believe they’ll be the perfect team at Braye Beach.”
Commenting on their plans, Scott said: “We are thrilled to return to Hand Picked Hotels in the Channel Islands. Alderney is a beautiful place to visit, its slower pace of life makes it the perfect escape from the pressures of the 21st Century and to re-charge and energise.
“Our aim is to create a relaxed, discreet and professional vibe and we look forward to welcoming new and returning guests. In time we hope Braye Beach will become the leading coastal boutique hotel in the Channel Islands.”
