Independent family-owned coach holiday group Daish’s Holidays has recently made two senior management appointments to its team.
Ronnie Gibson has been awarded a promotion to southern area manager and John Rushworth has been appointed as northern area manager.
Gibson has almost 20 years of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry and since joining has held general manager positions at two Daish’s hotels, The County Hotel in Kendal and more recently the Devonshire Hotel in Torquay.
In his new role he will oversee five hotel teams across three locations: Torquay, Newquay, and Weymouth.
On his promotion, Gibson said: “Working for Daish’s is a wonderful opportunity. I feel involved in every aspect of the business and I’m working with some fantastic people who share experiences and the knowledge they have gained over the years.
“Becoming an area manager is an opportunity I just had to grab with both hands. A challenging role but well worth it. The Daish’s family is a talented team and it’s a pleasure to come to work.”
With almost 35 years’ hospitality and leisure industry experience, which includes running his own pub, managing golf clubs and a hotel, Rushworth joins as northern area manager.
He will oversee hotel teams across four locations: Kendal, Blackpool, Llandudno, and Scarborough.
Rushworth and Gibson will also oversee the implementation of company policies and procedures, as well as the latest legislation, to ensure each hotel in their regions comply with relevant regulations.
Paul Harper, commercial director at Daish’s Holidays, added: “We wish to congratulate Ronnie on his well-deserved promotion and to welcome John to the Daish’s family. We are excited to have both Ronnie and John in management roles and wish them well as they bring their talents and experiences to our wider teams.”
